MTV’s SuChin Pak joins 2008 World Science Festival

SuChin Pak

You’ve seen SuChin Pak host MTV’s pre-Grammy show and its Video Music Awards. But did you know that at the start of her broadcasting career, she co-hosted a science show (Newton’s Apple on PBS)? That’s why we think she’s the ideal moderator for our event "Pioneers in Science." At this event, selected students from New York City public high schools will interview two top scientists in front of a live audience: Leon Lederman, Nobel-prize winning particle physicists and long-time director of the world’s most powerful particle accelerator, and Cynthia Breazeal, the robotics expert whose research explores the fascinating interactions between humans and "social robots."

Welcome to the Festival, SuChin — we’re very excited to have you aboard!

The Pioneers in Science event will take place on Thursday, May 29, from 4 pm to 5:30 pm at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY). It is presented in partnership with CUNY and in cooperation with the New York City Department of Education.

More updates from the World Science Festival can be found here.  The World Science Festival is a celebration of science, held from May 28 to June 1, 2008, in New York City.
